This age old profession that has allowed so many of us to traverse the globe and see all that we can see, will never get old. But one thing that many young, new graduates forget is that teaching is work! Whether you’re teaching English, maths or whatever subject it is. Whether you’re teaching at a public school, international school or private language centre…. it is work! And it should be treated as such, regardless of whether you see it as part of your long term career plans. While you’re there, give it everything you’ve got.
Yes, we get it, there are some unscrupulous employers out there, trying to make our lives hell, but today let’s look at the positives that have come out of our jobs. The mortgage payments have been made, a chunk of our college tuition has been paid off, we saved up a little to invest and travel, and most importantly there are students who are now much further along in their English language abilities because of us.
